Texture (fossils)

My bathroom tiles have fossils in them, which is pretty exciting.

Texture (mineral)

More of an implied texture through the pattern, as the stone had been smothed down.

Acetates + Textures

Combining the acetates with my paper prints, both negative and positive. Again, I think they create beautiful effects on camera but are a little too busy in real life.

Mixed Textures

Combing my acetate prints to make more interesting patterns. I think because of the glare they look too busy in real life but I think the photos are quite beautiful.

Textures

The textures I've been working with, objects scanned to a high resolution so the focus is on the texture over the object.

MRI Scaning

Work by Andrew Ellison, http://insideinsides.blogspot.co.uk/
This series reminded me of the textures I've been focusing on, especially the dark room work I've been doing. Ellison is managing to show the natural textures within the fruit and vegetables.

Texture (lime)

Decided to post a texture to my blog every day as I've been looking at textures.

Wood Grain

Started looking at wood textures as a back drop for my current pieces.

Out-of-Sketchbook Work

The general idea from my sketchbook work I've been doing.

A larger version of the above image. Effective in its own way, but I didn't like the lack of freedom to make stranger effects with the ink at this scale.

Making the image form out of an actual circle, I like this but again, I think mixing inks might have given a better effect.

Trying the ink again. It worked better this time and at this scale it was easier to be looser with the blind drawings.

Mixing colours of ink, didn't work at all as well as I wanted but the string worked out really well.

One of my favourite pieces from the session, possibly the contrast of the intense ink and the pale cityscape/swirl

Another favourite, again probably because of the contrast of plain space and intense colour, though I would prefer it with only one cityscape.
